Loved it here - cottage is super, we felt really relaxed, it is so comfortable and has everything you could need.
Enjoyed sitting in the garden with the beautiful view after a day’s walking.
Having been recommended by friends, the cottage has come up to all the expectations, together with the surrounding area which is quite spectacular.
Once again, thank you for a wonderful week. We’re already counting down the days until our next visit in October.

Another wonderful stay in The Dales. Cottage as ever very clean and comfortable. Covid doesn’t seem to have affected our stay in this beautiful part of the Country. We’ll be back to our second home as soon as we can.
The four of us returned yesterday from our second stay of the year at Wharfedale Cottage. Both visits were superbly enjoyable and it speaks volumes that we are already seeking to book for next year! The cottage is so comfortable and welcoming and to be back in lovely Wharfedale again after the tribulations of the last sixteen months was such a tonic. As ever, the cottage was immaculate and Jan and John had arranged everything to make us feel at home. Thank you once again! Vivien, Fred, Cynthia and Jim.
Had a lovely week at the cottage in July. A great location with a lovely south facing rear garden. Everything we needed was provided and the hosts Jan and John were extremely helpful when our car had a flat battery. Beds were comfortable. The wi-fi was sometimes a problem but that is not a great surprise in the Dales.
Definitely recommended.
Our first visit since 2018, and we were delighted to spend another thoroughly pleasant stay at the cottage. The welcome was, as always, warm and inviting. I'm sure we will be back in future years if the opportunity arises.
Another wonderful stay in lovely Wharfedale Cottage. The cottage is so comfortable, warm and cosy, with lovely walks from the door so you don't need to use the car, although we did a couple of trips to Skipton and a run out to Richmond, Reeth and Hawes with snow on the way back! The cottage has everything you could need and we made good use of the wood burner. Jan and John make you so welcome and they have made the cottage very welcoming, it always feels like coming home! We will certainly be back.
We had another wonderful stay at Wharfedale Cottage in October. Always warm and welcoming when you return from a day out exploring the amazing Yorkshire Dales. Great food in all 3 pubs in Kettlewell.

Another wonderful stay at such a lovely characterful cottage in such a tranquil setting. Late afternoons and evenings relaxing on the terrace gazing at the scenary and spending time with Max made it a fantastic relaxing break. The cottage is really homely and has everything you need for your break. All was spotless and deepcleaned before our arrival in accordance with Covid19.
As above, no Covid safety concerns during our stay. There are plenty of of superb short, mid and longer distance walks directly from the village, plus with three pubs, a shop, deli and tea rooms, car usage can easily be kept to a minimum.
Thank you so much Jan and John for helping us feel 'almost normal again' during our weeks stay.

Third time that we have returned to the cottage and it was relaxing as soon as we walked through the door.... such a beautiful cottage in a fantastic location. Jan and John had thoughtfully prepared the right measures for COVID whilst taking nothing away from the comfort of the cottage. We hope to back again next year !
We very much welcomed our return to Wharfedale Cottage on our tenth visit and appreciated all the efforts that John and Jan had made in opening the cottage safely. It really is an excellent 'all seasons' cottage in such a beautiful village with excellent walks from the doorstep. We only moved the car once in 7 days and took full advantage of the local ar walks instead, though there are plenty further afield too. The fields were full of wild flowers and the gardens of Kettlewell were in full bloom. The staff at the shop. pubs, tea rooms and ice cream huts were all welcoming to visitors to the area and had taken measures to ensure social distancing. At the end of the day we always looked forward to returning to this very homely cottage for a cup of tea in the garden ....joined by Max too.
We very much enjoyed our 6th visit to Wharfedale Cottage, being the first occupants after the COVID -19 problems. Jan and John have made all the necessary adjustments to follow Government guidelines and these did not reduce our enjoyment of the Cottage in any way. Jan and John (and Max) remain as friendly and helpful as ever, making us feel welcome to & within Kettlewell.
The food at the Kings Head remains excellent and both the other pubs are up and running.

We have been self-catering in Kettlewell for the past 20 years and this has been our best find to date. We can understand why Jan and John fell in love with it.

Another fabulous stay in our second home! Cottage as always very clean and comfortable. The weather during our week was superb, albeit too hot from time to time but still managed plenty of walking. If you make it to Austwick try lunch at The Gamecock Inn - beautiful food and setting.

We have found a real 'gem' with Wharfedale Cottage. We have loved this week and will be returning.
Really cosy, comfortable well appointed and equipped Dales village cottage. Patio and window seats allow basking in the sun surrounded by fellside views.
The village of Kettlewell provides ample walking without moving the car, while Malham, Hawes, Bolton Abbey etc are all a short drive away. A real home from home. Would thoroughly recommend.
A beautiful cottage with very helpful hosts. They have really paid a lot of attention to details for the comfort of guests. We can't think of one thing they could do to make it better, We had a wonderful stay and would definitely stay again. Thank you John and Jan.

We have stayed in quite a few SC cottages but this little gem has to be the best for location, decor and cleanliness.
Another wonderful holiday in this excellent cottage - so well situated in Upper Wharfedale. A great cottage to return to after a strenuous day's walking.

The photos don't do this place justice - it really is the most beautiful home right in the heart of the pretty village of Kettlewell. There's so much room. We had plenty of space to spread out and relax properly. Really tastefully finished to a very high spec. Didn't want to leave!
Welcoming, well presented, very clean. Good resources in the kitchen eg tea, coffee, salt, pepper, washing up liquid etc.
